Horizons London Programme

HORIZONS LONDON PROGRAMME.png

The Horizons London Programme is a 10-year initiative led by Voice4Change England (V4CE), dedicated to building a united movement with Black and Minoritised Ethnic (BME) communities to tackle race inequality embedded in key systems.

The programme focuses on four critical areas: health, housing, education, and environment. By fostering collaboration, strategic partnerships, and community empowerment, Horizons aims to drive systemic change for a more equitable and inclusive London.

Our Mission

  • Address racial inequality in systems affecting BME communities.

  • Build a united movement by fostering strategic collaborations and influencing policy.

  • Empower the BME Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector to drive systemic change.

  • Strengthen networking and relationship building with system stakeholders and BME VCSE organisations.

How Will We Do This?

Collaborative Action

  • Partnerships: We work closely with system stakeholders and the BME VCSE sector to co-develop race equality measures and strategies.

  • Strategic Influence: Our approach is to influence health, housing, education, and environment sectors for long-term system change.

  • Network Building: We are developing a race equality network to codesign solutions to the challenges faced by BME Londoners.

Engagement & Dialogue

  • Online Roundtables and In-Person Networking Events: We act as a conduit, bringing together BME VCSE organisations and system stakeholders to open dialogue, understand root causes of racial discrimination, and codesign solutions.

  • Community-Led Research: We collect feedback and data through surveys, interviews, and storytelling, ensuring lived experiences shape our recommendations.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Reports, policy papers, and blog posts are produced to influence political, economic, and social changes for more equitable systems.

Building Community Resilience

  • Asset-Based Community Development: We support the BME VCSE sector to build on existing strengths and resources.

  • Political Literacy: Training and workshops empower BME communities to participate in local decision-making forums and governance.

  • Capacity Building: We provide tools, resources, and leadership development to enhance the sector’s ability to drive change.

Are you passionate about tackling racial inequality and creating lasting positive change for Black and Minoritised Ethnic communities across London? Join us to launch the Horizons London Programme, a bold movement to transform the systems shaping health, housing, education, and the environment.

There will be presentations from all four workstreams—Health, Housing, Education, and Environment—followed by an engaging, in-depth table discussion. This will provide everyone with an opportunity to share insights on the systemic work they’re involved in and collaboratively explore co-designed solutions.
