Croydon BME Forum, a valuable V4CE member and grantee hosted a #YourVoteYourVoice workshop, supported by the Greater London Authority, at their Wellness Centre in Croydon on 29th November 2023.
The workshop attracted a small but diverse audience in an interactive and engaging session interspersed with questions evincing keen interest in the topics discussed at the workshop.
Facilitated by V4CE Grants Officer, Jana Kovariova, the workshop helped the audience gain more awareness of the Photo ID requirements following changes to the Electoral Act 2022.
Participants left confident enough to signpost others on issues that included how to obtain the Voter Authority Certificate, how to register to vote, and what the accepted forms of Photo ID are.
Others expressed a desire to gain more political literacy and how similar workshops can be delivered in their communities.
